Chandrayaan-1 Launch Special

 

Chandrayaan-1/C1XS launched successfully on 22nd October 2008

The Chandrayaan-1 launch is now scheduled nominally for 22 October 2008 (with a window fixed between October 19 and October 28) by a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-XL from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

Chandrayaan-1 would take approximately eight days to course the nearly 3,86,000 km to get to its final orbit — 100 km from the moon.

C1XS Team Launch Animations

To celebrate the launch event the C1XS team proudly present an animation visualizing the Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft in transit from the Earth to the Moon and the C1XS instrument conducting lunar science.
